The deepest hole of Europe more is deep than 9,000 meters, is in Windischeschenbach in the waiter palatinate and loads visitor –in the figurative sense – to a trip to the midpoint of the earth on.  To be sure guests cannot how in the continental depth boring (KTB) middle of the 90 advance years that drilling, personally into the earth's crust.  Yet the region offers itself round around the drilling tower largest with 83 meters of the world such as no other to change on the "traces of the earth story".

Whether gigantic rock blocks out of many earth ages and different layers of the earth's crust, in granite chopped remnants of the mining story or a 38 meter of rose quartz large:  A multitude of geological monuments discards testimony therefrom that the area lies at the junction of the continental disks of original Africa and original Europe.

During the scientists in the drilling hole yet always after new insights in things earthquake research, earth warmth utilization, earth attraction etc. work, plan the community in the neighborhood of the research site on the terrain of the depth drilling center a geological development site of European model character.  Already now footpaths and bike paths, eight geological paths and a Geo tour granite make the inner world of this region over 100 kilometer tangibly.
